About the journal

ISOQOL Dictionary for Quality of Life and Health Outcomes Measurement

The idea of creating a dictionary of terms used in our field arose from the Uruguay meeting in 2008. An encounter with a discouraged student who had just realized that, although seasoned members from our society distinguished between quality of life (QOL) and health related quality of life (HRQL), novices and researchers from other fields did not. The idea of a dictionary as a invaluable resource for people working in the field of HRQL and health outcomes was enthusiastically received by the Board of Directors. Today, the official ISOQOL Dictionary is available in English, Portuguese and Simplified Chinese, with other translations in-progress.
