“Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement”

The Guest Editors of the Journal of Patient-Reported Outcomes (JPRO) are pleased to invite submissions to this collection on Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE).

The purpose of this special issue is to capture the implementation of PPIE in Patient-Reported Outcome (PRO)-related research, such as the development of PRO measures and electronic PRO (ePRO) systems, as well as the implementation of PRO measures for healthcare research and clinical practice.

The Guest Editors invite original research, review articles (scoping/systematic/narrative), and brief communications, which report on the involvement and engagement of patients, their families, caregivers, and the wider public, with a focus on any of these aspects:

  1. The process of implementing PPIE for PRO-related research and clinical practice;
  2. The innovative methods and approaches taken to enhance PPIE in PRO-related research and clinical practice;
  3. The evaluation of the impact of PPIE in PRO-related research and clinical practice; and
  4. The future direction of PPIE in PRO-related research and clinical practice— thought-provoking commentaries are also welcome.
