The journal Quality of Life Research is seeking to recruit an Associate Editor (Social Media).

This is a new position. In this role, the Associate Editor (Social Media) will work closely with the Editors-in-Chief to highlight important research findings from the journal. These findings will be shared with scientific and non-scientific audiences through social media, in collaboration with ISOQOL.

We are looking for someone with expertise in areas of health-related quality of life research, including but not limited to cardiovascular, HIV, injury, mental health, musculoskeletal, neurology, orthopedics, rehabilitation, rheumatology, surgery, as well as life-time perspectives on health and illness (e.g., conditions in children or the elderly).

The Associate Editor (Social Media) should have experience in and knowledge of relevant methodology for health-related quality of life research, such as clinical trials, epidemiology, health economics, health services research, item response theory, public health, response shift, structural equation modelling, statistical issues in patient-reported outcome data analysis, and qualitative methods.

The Associate Editor (Social Media) should have experience communicating scientific research and be able to prepare content for different social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, BlueSky, Facebook).

Expected Commitment

Associate Editors are expected to serve a four-year term and are eligible for stipends. Eligible persons will be prepared to work with the Editors-in-Chief to prepare social media summaries of published and accepted manuscripts.

The Role of an Editorial Board

Eligibility

Applicants will have:

  • Published scientific works in Quality of Life Research
  • Served as a reviewer in good standing for the journal (or be able to evidence this for a journal in a related area)
  • Several years of post-doctoral experience
  • Experience of research and project leadership
  • Substantial experience in publishing in areas related to treatment, care, and rehabilitation and/or key methodological areas of relevance to research and practice published in Quality of Life Research
  • Experience with different social media platforms
  • Experience communicating with scientific and non-scientific audiences
  • Been a member of ISOQOL
