Badges

Each attendee will receive a name badge upon check-in at the Annual Conference. Your name badge is the official conference pass and should be worn at all times during the meeting. Name badges are required for entry into paid/ticketed events, as well as the conference lunches Thursday through Saturday.

Business Centre / Printing

Please visit the hotel’s self-service Business Centre for administrative needs such as printing and making copies, fax machine or shipping a package. Hours: Open 24 hours, daily.

ISOQOL Staff cannot offer assistance with onsite printing.

Certificates of Attendance

Certificates of attendance will be distributed electronically directly following the conference to those who requested a copy on the conference registration form.

Certificates of Presentation

Certificates of presentation will be distributed electronically directly following the conference. Those who require a physical certificate can request one during the conference at the registration desk.

Coat Check

Given that most of our attendees are staying at the conference hotel, ISOQOL does not accommodate coat or luggage check at the registration desk. Attendees are responsible for their belongings.

Coffee Breaks

​The conference registration fee includes two coffee breaks daily on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Coffee will be served in the Grand Foyer 3 & 4.

Canada uses Canadian Dollar (CAD) as currency.

ISOQOL accepts credit card payment (MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express) processed through PayPal. ISOQOL also accepts cash (USD or local currency CAD). If you wish to pay by check please note that checks must be in U.S. Dollars, drawn on a U.S. bank and made payable to ISOQOL.

Exhibits are open on Wednesday during the Welcome Reception. They are also open Thursday – Friday during the coffee breaks and lunch break.

Guests and Children

ISOQOL asks delegates to refrain from taking children, spouses or guests to any educational session offered at the 2023 Annual Conference.
Sessions at the conference are restricted to registered attendees only.

Health and Safety Guidance

Below is the updated health and safety guidance ISOQOL has adopted for the 2023 Annual Conference in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, which may be subject to updates as the situation evolves.

In response to the changing conditions of COVID-19 and its variants, ISOQOL adopted the following guidance for the 2023 Annual Conference:

  • We encourage attendees to be fully vaccinated prior to attending the conference.*
  • We encourage attendees who are experiencing symptoms indicative of COVID to self-test during the 72-24 hours prior to the conference and only attend if their most recent test is negative.
  • We ask attendees to respect the comfort level of others while interacting. Please be cognizant of patient research partners in attendance as well as of attendees who interact with patients and people with compromised immune systems on a daily basis.
  • While mask wearing is not required, ISOQOL will have masks available onsite at the registration desk.
  • If you experience any COVID symptoms during the conference, we encourage you to take a COVID self-test.
  • In the event that you test positive for COVID-19 during the Annual Conference, we ask that you please begin isolating immediately.
  • In the event of an onsite emergency, ISOQOL has a Crisis Response Plan in place. For more information, please view ISOQOL’s Policy Manual.

For those needing a test for travel, it is the attendee’s responsibility to arrange for the correct testing.

Any changes to these health and safety protocols will be available on this area of the conference website.

*ISOQOL is unable to enforce vaccination policies and mask mandates beyond local ordinance.

All attendees can connect to the conference hotel Wi-Fi with the details below. For reference anytime, the internet password is printed on the back of your badge. To ensure a secure network, you may be asked to re-enter the password after 24 hours of use.

Language

English is the primary language of the United States and the official language of ISOQOL. All presentations will be written and presented in English.

Mobile App

ISOQOL is pleased to offer a mobile app filled with conference information, allowing you to carry the entire program in your pocket! Click the individual dropdowns below for more information on specific app-related topics.

Update your contact details within your profile

Within the mobile app, select the profile icon in the top right corner of your screen. Then from the dropdown menu, select “Edit Profile.” Here you can update your picture, bio, and contact information. You can also add any “Languages” you speak or “Interests” to connect with other attendees with similar backgrounds.

Update the notifications you receive

To update your notifications, select the profile icon in the top right corner of your screen. Then from the dropdown menu, select “Preferences.” Here you can select the types of messaging you would like to receive. We recommend enabling push notifications to receive timely alerts related to the conference.  

Viewing the conference agenda

To find the conference agenda, click the “Agenda” icon on the app’s home screen, or click the icon in the top left corner of your screen and select “Agenda” from the toolbar. All conference sessions appear on this page in chronological order. You can also look for sessions based on the conference day or by selecting the “Filter” option to search sessions by category (e.g., plenary, symposium, poster session, etc.).

If you want to see more details for a session, simply tap the session title to view a description and speakers. From here, you can also click thelocation icon and room name to open the conference map and find the session’s location. Additional options include adding the session to your personal schedule or adding notes for the session.

Note: If you don’t see a specific session you’re looking for, please ensure you’ve selected “All” for the conference days and remove any filters.  

Build your personal agenda

See a session you want to attend in the Agenda tab? Click the calendar icon to the right of the session. Alternatively, you can click on the session to view more details, and then click “Add to Schedule.” This will add the session to your personal agenda in the mobile app.

You can view your agenda at the bottom of the Home page in the app or by selecting the profile icon in the top right corner of your screen and then selecting “Your Agenda.”

Sync your personal agenda

Want to sync your conference schedule to your personal calendar? Within the mobile app, select the profile icon in the top right corner of your screen and then select “Your Agenda” from the dropdown. Then click the “Export Calendar” button. This will add your agenda to your phone’s calendar app, though you may also select a different app to share it with.

Print a copy of the agenda

Although printing your personal agenda is unavailable, you can access a PDF file of the conference schedule by visiting the conference website here. Click the “Download a PDF version of the Schedule at a Glance” button to save and print the schedule. On the same webpage, you can also download a PDF version of the conference’s Abstract Information, which includes abstract titles, presenting authors, and room information.

Although we recommend using the mobile app for the most up-to-date version of the agenda, this is a great option for those who want a physical copy. Thank you for supporting ISOQOL’s “Going Green” initiative.

Schedule 1x1 meetings

Want to request a meeting with another attendee? Within the mobile app, click the icon in the top left corner of your screen and select “Attendees” from the toolbar. Search the name of the person you are requesting a meeting with, and then tap their name from the results to open their profile. You can then message them directly using the “Send a Message” button or request a meeting with them using the “Schedule a Meeting” button. Using the scheduling feature, you can enter a title for the meeting, date, time, location, and note. Click “Send Invite,” and the attendee will receive your request via the mobile app and/or via email, depending on their settings. The meeting will now also appear under your personal conference agenda.

Post on the Message Board

We want to hear what you have to say about the Annual Conference! Be a part of the excitement by sharing your experiences on the mobile app’s Message Board, and stay up to date on the latest news.

To post, click on the “Message Board” icon on the app’s home screen, or click the icon in the top left corner of your screen and select “Message Board” from the toolbar. Type your message in the text box or even share a photo! Once the message is ready to share, click the “Post” button. You can always click the “Delete” icon on one of your posts if you want to remove it. You can also “Like” other attendees’ messages to engage with the board.

Engage in Group Discussions

The mobile app’s Group Discussions feature is a great way to network or share knowledge, with a focus on a particular topic. The 30th Annual Conference has three channels for discussion: IPRO, IPCOR, and First Time Attendee.

To post in this forum, click on the “Group Discussions” icon on the app’s home screen, or click the icon in the top left corner of your screen and select “Group Discussions” from the toolbar. Select the appropriate channel, type your message in the text box, and click “Send.” You can also leave emoji reactions to other attendees’ messages by tapping a message, clicking the emoji icon, and selecting your reaction.

Read abstracts for conference presentations

All abstract details for the conference are available on the mobile app. When opening an oral, oral brief or poster session in the app, each has linked PDF files that include all the abstracts for the presentations in that session.

You can also view all abstracts for the conference by selecting the icon in the top left corner of your screen and selecting “Abstracts” from the toolbar. All the linked PDFs will appear on this page. These are searchable by abstract title. 

Connect with our sponsors and exhibitors

To find out who is sponsoring or exhibiting at the Annual Conference, select the “Sponsors & Exhibitors” icon on the app’s home page or click the icon in the top left corner of your screen and select “Sponsors and Exhibitors” from the toolbar. Here, each sponsor and exhibitor has their own profile that you can open by tapping on their logo. You can read about their organization or even find their contact information.

Exhibitors also have the location of their booth listed on their profile. It appears under their organization name in orange text, next to thelocation icon. Tap that text to open the conference map and view their location.

Navigating the conference

The mobile app hosts a map of the conference floor to assist with navigation. Access the map by selecting the “Maps” icon on the app’s home page or by clicking the icon in the top left corner of your screen and selecting “Maps” from the toolbar. Then click “Conference Floor” to view the map.

To find where specific sessions are on the map, navigate to the “Agenda” page from the toolbar, find the session you are looking for, and tap its name to open up its details. The session’s room appears in orange text next to thelocation icon. Tap this text to open up the conference map, with a pin drop marking the session’s room.

Keep the mobile app up-to-date

Occasionally, ISOQOL staff will make changes within the mobile app (e.g., if a session gets cancelled, a new registrant is added, etc.). To ensure these changes are reflected within your app, we recommend checking for updates every time you use the app.

Navigate to the app’s toolbar by selecting the icon in the top left corner of your screen. If your app needs to be updated, you will see a button at the top of the menu saying “Update Now.” Tap this whenever you see it to ensure your mobile app stays up-to-date.

If you think your app may be outdated but don’t see the “Update Now” message, you can always tap “Refresh” at the bottom of the app’s menu.

I need help with the mobile app

If you’re experiencing a technical issue with the mobile app, please reach out to EventMobi for support. Click the icon in the top left corner of your screen, select “Event Information” from the toolbar, and then select “Help Desk” to contact EventMobi for support.

It is always a good idea to include our event name (ISOQOL 30th Annual Conference) and information that helps them understand the issue, including your device (e.g., iPhone), operating system (e.g., iOS9), and browser (e.g., the EventMobi app), as well as any steps you took right before you experienced the issue.

Still can't find what you're looking for?

If you’re having trouble finding a particular session, attendee, abstract, etc., you can use the app’s generic search function. Click the icon in the top left corner of your screen to open up the app’s menu. At the top of the menu, type in whatever you’re looking for in the “Search” bar and hit enter/return. This will pull up a list of results, which you can tap on for more information.

By registering for the ISOQOL Annual Conference, you hereby give consent to be photographed by ISOQOL staff for the purposes of advertising and public display.

Session content is copyright-protected by ISOQOL. Recording of any session without the consent of ISOQOL is prohibited. Any recording made with the consent of ISOQOL is for personal use only and cannot be reproduced or distributed.

All sessions and presentations are only available in-person at the Annual Conference. They are not digitally archived for later viewing.
