Purpose of SIG: The Translation and Cultural Adaptation Special Interest Group (TCA-SIG) had its first meeting on 18 October 2004 in Hong Kong, China. The overall objectives of the group are: -to identify and advance research in different areas of interest to all parties involved in the field of Translation and Cultural Adaptation and - to ensure that cross-cultural issues receive sufficient visibility within Isoqol's annual conferences. The group is chaired by Katrin Conway and Donald Patrick and is divided into 3 subgroups as follows: The "Translation Difficulties" subgroup is led by Katrin Conway. The objective of this group is to create a list of good practices
for questionnaire developers based on the review of common translations
difficulties and proposed solutions of how to avoid them. The "Equivalences" subgroup is led by Sonya Eremenco.
The objective of this group is the collection and review of existing classifications
of equivalences and applications through concrete examples.
The "Methodologies" subgro up led by Mona Martin. The objective
of this group is to identify and prioritise a research agenda for the
development and comparison of methodologies in the field of translation
