This workshop is an introductory-level presentation of the health-related quality of life (HrQoL) and its use at individual, clinical and societal level.
Its purpose is to provide information about HrQoL to Medicine, Economics, Psychology and Health Sciences students, young physicians in training, general practitioners, psychologists and nurses. At the end, the participants should be familiar with the meaning of concepts such as health status, quality of life and health-related quality of life, among others. They also should be acquainted to the techniques used to culturally adapt outcome instruments and how to validate them. Some generic and specific outcome instruments will be analysed in deeper detail, both to measure effectiveness and utility.
