Symposium abstract submissions are now closed.
Symposium abstracts will undergo a double blind peer review led by the Scientific Program Planning Committee. Symposium abstracts will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
Submitting moderators will be notified regarding the acceptance of their abstracts in early March 2019. Submitting moderators of selected symposia must formally confirm their presentations, review and agree to the presenter terms and conditions through the online acceptance form. The deadline for confirmation is 18 March 2019.
In the event that a Symposium Abstract is not selected for presentation at the Annual Conference, the supporting abstracts can be re-submitted for consideration as an oral or poster presentation at the 26th Annual Conference. Abstracts must be re-submitted to the oral and poster presentation abstract submission category in order to be eligible for selection for presentation in this category.
Symposia provide an opportunity for a comprehensive examination of a selected topic pertaining to health-related quality of life research and patient-reported outcomes and are 90 minutes long. A symposium session can highlight emerging research or initiate discussion of policy issues.
The online submission system will allow the Symposium Moderator to submit the overall symposium synopsis, presentation format, funding source (if applicable) and names of individual presentation authors (if necessary) for your symposium. This can be completed at any point, regardless of when the presenters submit their individual abstracts for the symposium.
Each presenting author is responsible for submitting their own individual abstract. The abstracts will be paired together based on the information entered in the “Symposium Title” field. It is imperative that the text in the “Symposium Title” field reads exactly the same across all submissions within your symposium group.
If the symposium moderator is also a presenting author (submitting their own individual abstract), this requires a second submission. Enter the Symposium Submission again, click “Add” for an additional symposium submission and follow the instructions for “presenter at the symposium”. Specifically, for the question “are you the symposium moderator”, you should indicate “no” since you are acting as a presenter at this time. All the abstracts for your symposium will be paired together by the matching information entered in the “Symposium Title” field.
